If you’ve been tempted to try Blue Apron but have been scared off by the price, we might have the perfect trick to make it more enticing for you. Turns out, you just need a Costco membership — or a friend who’s willing to help you out.

See, Costco’s online gift card selection, which is seriously worth checking out, has one little section called “Weight Management & Food Delivery.” Click on that and you’ll find a deal for two $50 Blue Apron eGift cards. It’s a member-only deal (which is where that friend comes in, if you don’t have a membership) and can be scooped up for just $79.99.

That’s a savings of 20 percent! And because Blue Apron realizes people are probably buying this to use themselves (versus splitting up the cards to give away as a gift), they make it really easy to redeem them online. If you need it, here’s where Blue Apron welcomes Costco members.
The cards are usually delivered to your email’s inbox within the hour. Then you simply redeem the cards and you’ll have a $100 credit to get, say, two meals for two people for two weeks and you’ll just have to pay an additional $3.90. This would normally cost you $103.90, but you’d get it for $83.89. That makes a pretty good dent in the grand scheme of things, no? (Compare Blue Apron’s regular pricing here.)
Another way to try Blue Apron for less money and without signing up for the subscription service is to try one of the meal kits, which feed four people and cost $24.99. They’re only currently available in select stores, but the program may expand to others, so keep your eyes peeled.
