This year’s fifth annual Colour of Music Festival will include two evenings of chamber music featuring international talents.

On Thurs. Oct. 19, German-born, Colombia, South American-based violinist Anyango Yarbo-Davenport and an all-female Colour of Music Festival Virtuosi will perform a tribute to opera sensation Leontyne Price, who celebrated her 90th birthday in February of this year. Price, the most famous soprano of her generation, made waves in the music world, constantly facing racially motivated roadblocks. Daughter of African-American soprano Africa Yarbo-Davenport and the late Austrian conductor Hans Peter Jillich, Yarbo-Davenport is an acclaimed violinist, who regularly performs in venues like Carnegie Hall, Munich Philharmonic, Teatro Mayor Bogotá, Mozarteum Saal Salzburg, and the Royal Albert Hall.

Following this tribute, on Fri. Oct. 20, the world renowned Grimbert-Barré Trio will take the Memminger stage. The performance will highlight the Paris based trio of brothers — Romuald, Jonathan, and Maxence — two of whom are world-class composers.
