Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Goal, Gets Red Card and Suspension for Pushing Official

The Spanish football season got off to quite the dramatic start for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Real Madrid superstar came in as a substitute against Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup, and he made an impact right away.

Ronaldo scored a fantastic goal, taking the ball down the left side on his own and blasting it past two defenders from the top of the net to break a 1-1 tie.

After scoring, Ronaldo went wild with celebration, taking off his shirt and showing off his absolutely shredded six-pack to the world. (Wonder how Ronaldo got so cut? Check out his 21 best Instagram workout moments, and see how he trains for soccer domination.)

But the celebration was short-lived—for Ronaldo, at least.

While Real Madrid ended up winning the match 3-1, Ronaldo’s day was marred by two yellow cards and a red card for pushing a referee. Ronaldo was later suspended for five games due to his actions on the field, meaning he’ll miss the second-leg match against Barcelona, as well as La Liga matches against Deportivo, Valencia, Levante, and Real Sociedad.

Here’s a look at Ronaldo’s action-filled day against Barcelona.
